For public Wi-Fi networks, Android 8.1 will display information on the quality of their speed before a connection.
The updated Android 8.1 Oreo update was released in early December, but it is only now that a convenient feature is starting to be deployed for the equipped devices. At the beginning of the month, the adoption rate of Android 8.1 was barely 0.2%.

This feature applies to public Wi-Fi networks, with the display of information that will allow to know the quality of the speed of the connection before an effective connection.
Four indicators will be proposed, in addition to the traditional signal strength. It can thus be a speed qualified as slow, correct (ok), fast or very high. Respectively, this corresponds to ranges of up to 1 Mbps, 5 Mbps, 20 Mbps and more.Public Wi-Fi can be spotty.
