Facebook wants to dethrone Twitch in video game streaming

Facebook is continuing its efforts to try to win with players as the new reference streaming platform.

Facebook puts more and more on the video, and it is a sector that the social network hopes to capture more: that of the players and streaming. The social network is thus coming to compete with the tenors of the market Twitch and YouTube Gaming.

Last year, Blizzard already announced a partnership with the network to allow players of his titles on Battlenet to broadcast their games live on Facebook. It was a first step forward in the world of video game streaming for Facebook that intends to go further.

The network has recently launched a pilot program dedicated to celebrity youtubers and twitchers, which should help them make better use of its platform and generate revenue from their activities. Facebook has managed to seduce some known broadcasters like StoneMountain64 which already benefits from a million fans.

Facebook hopes to seduce with the ability to stream in 1080p at 60 fps but also with the establishment of a donations button. No big revolution in the sector except that Facebook's user base is more than Twitch's.
