YouTube clarifies rules on hate speech

All videos on YouTube are not considered suitable for monetization by advertising. YouTube clarifies its rules of non-monetization for hateful content.

The famous online video platform YouTube has had to face the boycott of advertisers whose ads have been coupled with incitement videos.

After this and minimizing the problem, YouTube has ensured that advertisers will have better control tools at the places where their ads appear.

Recently, it was the rules on non-advertising content that were clarified. In particular, this concerns three additions.

Hate content: Video content promoting discrimination, denigration or humiliation of an individual or a group on the basis of race, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, disability, age, Veteran status, sexual orientation, gender or any other characteristic known as a ground of discrimination or marginalization, are not appropriate for advertising. Satirical or humorous content can be adapted to certain advertisers. However, the mere mention of your humorous intention is not enough, and the video may still not be suitable for advertising.

Inappropriate use of family entertainment characters: videos showing content or characters from family entertainment, whether animated or live, that are violent, sexual, abject or inappropriate, even for a purpose Humorous or satirical, are not suitable for advertising.

Challenging and denigrating content: Unnecessarily provocative, incendiary or denigrating content may not be suitable for advertising. This is the case, for example, with content intended to insult or humiliate an individual or a group.

It is not a question of a prohibition but of the impossibility of monetizing such videos.
