Samsung Galaxy S10: towards a fully customized SoC with NPU?

The Galaxy S9 smartphone is not yet official that it is already the Galaxy S10 issue of 2019. The latter would benefit from a processor directly designed by Samsung elements and 5G connectivity.

The Galaxy S9 smartphone will be unveiled at the end of February and will offer two configurations of processors: a SoC SnapDragon 845 or SoC Exynos 9810 partly designed directly by Samsung.

The Korean group is now able to perform some hardware platform elements itself, such as the CPU M3 cores or the 4G Gigabit modem.

By 2019, it should be able to offer a SoC whose main elements (CPU, GPU, NPU for artificial intelligence, modem) have been developed internally, according to a prediction of the serial leaker ice universe, generally well known of Samsung's upcoming strategy, on social networks.

The Galaxy S10 of 2019 should therefore offer a high performance custom SoC and incorporating a 5G modem. Experience shows that Samsung usually offers the latest advances in cellular networking technologies in its high-end smartphones.

Added to this is the best memory level technology, with support for LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. One should always find an AMOLED display covering most of the front panel, with a ratio of at least 93%.

Artificial intelligence should be put in the spotlight. Samsung is expected to be finalizing its own NPU that could make a first appearance with the Galaxy Note9 in the second half of 2018, and no doubt flourish with the Galaxy S10 ... some of which already claim that it could be called Galaxy X, as the 2017 special iPhone has become the iPhone X.
