AV-Test: Antivirus Ranking for Windows 10

For twenty security products, AV-Test delivers its latest antivirus ranking for individuals with Windows 10.

  
The independent laboratory AV-Test has updated one of its rankings of antivirus solutions. It covers the period from November to December 2017 and concerns about twenty products for individuals on the operating system Windows 10 (64 bits).

Up-to-date antiviruses are tested in their default configuration. Three criteria are taken into account: protection against malware infections (viruses, worms, Trojans) and Web attacks, the influence on system resources during daily use, and the effect on the system. use of the whole computer (warning messages, blockages by mistake ...).

Each criterion is scored out of 6, and so a total score that can reach 18. This perfect score was obtained by Kaspersky Internet Security, McAfee Internet Security and VIPRE AdvancedSecurity. For the top of the basket, AV-Test also distinguishes AhnLab V3 Internet Security, Avira Antivirus Pro, Bitdefender Internet Security and Trend Micro Internet Security which have a score of 17.5.

 

Compared to the previous ranking on the period from September to October, we note the progression of Comodo Internet Security Premium which had posted a not very flattering score. Windows Defender confirms clear progress but remains penalized by the criterion of use.

AV-Test still has a problem with the impact on the system resources of ESET Internet Security. Note also that Qihoo 360 is no longer part of the ranking, while an entrant is Panda Free AntiVirus.
