As expected at the end of the year, Samsung unveils its new Galaxy A8 and A8 + smartphones with a desire to offer some of the high-end features of Galaxy S in a more affordable smartphone.
The manufacturer unveils this year the models Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8 + (2018) with the contribution of a display Infinity Display ratio 18: 9 and covering most of the front: 5.6 inches FHD + for the Galaxy A8 and 6 inches / 1080 x 2220 pixels for the Galaxy A8 +, with Super AMOLED panel.
The other novelty of these models is the presence of a double 16 + 8 megapixel front photo sensor with f / 1.9 aperture for both optics, and a 16 megapixel single main photo sensor at the back, with aperture at f / 1.7.

The double front photo sensor will generate high quality selfies with bokeh effect, with the possibility to adjust this effect at any time. At the back, the layout of the photo sensor, with a fingerprint reader underneath, should be the one found on the future Galaxy S9.
Smartphones use an octocore SoC with a configuration 2 (at 2.2 GHz) + 6 (at 1.6 GHz), with 4 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of storage space, up to 6 GB of RAM in the case of the Galaxy A8 +.
Waterproof smartphones thanks to their IP68 certification, they respectively embark a battery of 3000 mAh or 3500 mAh, with fast charging via the USB-C port. If they are initially running Android 7.1.1 Nougat, they will get Android Oreo later and are compatible with 4G LTE Cat.11.
Samsung announces availability of Galaxy A8 and A8 + smartphones as of January 2018 but does not yet specify the price.
