The Galaxy S9 smartphone could have a 3D sensor to enhance its face recognition capabilities, similar to the iPhone X.

The Galaxy S9 smartphone should like the Galaxy S8 offer functions of facial recognition and iris scanner but in an optimized version that could use a 3D sensor, as in the case of the iPhone X.

The face recognition of the Galaxy S8 is not as sophisticated as that of the iPhone X with its Face ID mode but the Korean group could reinforce it by a solution taking the principle of the recovery of depth information via a specific module.

This is at least what a Chinese serial leaker says on Twitter and Chinese social networks, without giving any more details about the performance or the supplier of the sensor.
