McAfee source code inspection by foreign governments ended this year. A decision mediated while Kaspersky Lab has just done the opposite.
Recently reported by Reuters, the decision was made by McAfee earlier this year, when finalizing the sale of Intel's stake in an investment fund. It seems to respond to a mistrust of the examination of the code by specialized Russian companies.

Reuters recalls the opinions of experts and former US officials that such a review would provide Russia with "opportunities to find vulnerabilities" that could later be exploited in cyberattacks.
