The independent AV-Comparatives lab publishes its ranking of antivirus solutions facing the same vectors of infection as a user during a daily navigation.
The AV-Comparatives lab publishes the latest results of its so-called real-world protection test. It's about the month of September. Twenty security solutions have been tested in a Windows 10 RS2 64-bit environment, and with third-party software updates (Adobe Flash, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Java ...).
There were 355 live tests that involved exposure to malicious URLs with drive-by-download exploits (malware infection in a single lookup) or URLs pointing directly to malware.
Six solutions blocked all malicious samples: Bitdefender Internet Security, Kaspersky Internet Security, Panda Free Antivirus, Tencent PC Manager, Trend Micro Internet Security and F-Secure Safe.
Taking into account the number of false positives, the three solutions ranked at the top are those of Bitdefender, Kaspersky Lab and Panda Security. Note that Windows Defender Microsoft has been delegating the decision of a blockage to a user, and competes with renowned solutions.
