Ehang 184: The drone taxi demonstrates that it can fly with passengers

The Chinese quadrotor drone Ehang 184 makes his show in a video. And with the ability to carry two passengers.

While Airbus' Vahana flying taxi has successfully completed its first test flight, Chinese manufacturer Ehang has released a video of its EHD 184 taxi drone, which has performed several test flights. In all, some 40 passengers took part in these tests.

The video shows an improved version of the fully electric quadrotor drone compared to what was originally announced. In particular, the ability to carry two people at the same time.

According to Ehang, the craft was able to operate a vertical takeoff to reach an altitude of 300 meters, perform a test flight to cover 15 km, fly at a cruising speed of 130 km / h. The video also allows to see the tested device in various conditions.

For the future, the focus will be more on improving comfort for passengers and adding an optional manual control. With two seats, the payload can be up to 280 kg.

If the Ehang 184 is obviously flying, developing a taxi drone service will also be a big challenge.
