iPhone: LG Display would provide OLED display 6.5 inches of the next smartphone

After the iPhone X, Apple should more widely equip its iPhone OLED displays.
It is LG Display that would be the origin of the 6.5 inch screen of the big model, Samsung providing that of the small model.

With the iPhone X, Apple has inaugurated the OLED technology in its smartphones, with the help of Samsung, its only supplier for this generation, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus remaining on a LCD technology.

Analysts expect the OLED to be more widely available in different iPhone models in 2018 but to ensure the provision of the hundreds of millions of mobile displays needed, it will probably involve at least one other provider .

It is likely LG Display that will play this role. The company has invested to improve its production lines and received help from Apple to strengthen its sites. To ensure privileged access to production, the firm does not hesitate to join the investments of its suppliers.

According to The Korea Herald, it will be in charge of producing the 6.5-inch OLED display of the next big iPhone model, while Samsung Display will still be in charge of the 5.8-inch display of the standard model.
