AV-Comparatives publishes its ranking of the best antivirus solutions when faced with the vectors of infection similar to those that the user encounters as part of a daily navigation.

The independent laboratory AV-Comparatives publishes new results for its protection test in the real world. It was carried out in April. Some twenty security solutions have been tested in a Windows 7 (Home Premium, 64-bit) environment and with up-to-date third-party software (Adobe Flash, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Java ...).

Nearly 450 live tests consisted of exposure to malicious URLs with exploits of the drive-by download type or URLs pointing directly to a malware.

Seven solutions have blocked all malicious samples: Ad-Aware Pro Security 12.0, Bitdefender Internet Security 2017, Fortinet FortiClient 5.4, Kaspersky Internet Security 2017, Panda Free Antivirus 18.0, Symantec Norton Security 2017 and Trend Micro Internet Security 11.1.

Taking into account the false positives, the no-fault was carried out by Ad-Aware (Lavasoft), Kaspersky Lab and Panda Security.

A 100% protection rate does not mean that the security solution in question will always provide protection against all threats on the Web. The test is frequently renewed and two annual reports are published.
