Amazon Fire TV Stick Basic Edition: the HDMI dongle arrives in France


The Amazon group is expanding the distribution of its Amazon Fire TV Stick Basic Edition HDMI dongle to several markets, including France, to access streaming video or music and games or information on any screen.


Launched in the US in 2014, the Amazon Fire TV Stick is an HDMI dongle that provides access to streaming audio and video content from Amazon and other services.

The dongle requires nothing more than a WiFi network to connect to the Internet for authentication of user accounts and has a remote control to access content but also interact in applications, including games.

The e-commerce group announces the extension of the distribution of its Amazon Fire TV Stick Basic Edition dongle (Basic Edition because devoid of the Alexa assistant) to more than 100 markets, including France, with an interface in the language of Molière.


The promise of this device is for example to be able to access his favorite series, on Amazon Prime Video as Netflix or Youtube, or streaming audio services like Spotify, from any place with a screen and Internet connection, such as hotels.

  
It is also possible to access "more than 4000 apps and games". On board, there is a MediaTek quadcore processor with GPU ARM Mali450 MP4, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage space, and with WiFi compatibility up to AC and Bluetooth 4.1 (which is used to connect the remote) .

Amazon offers its Amazon Fire TV Stick Basic Edition for $ 59.99, with a rebate for Amazon Prime members, who can acquire it for $ 39.99.
