Tomorrow, playing on a notebook could be a reality thanks to the new architecture presented by Nvidia and christened GeForce GTX Max-Q.

So far, to play on a laptop equipped with a graphics chip sufficiently solid, it was necessary to move towards heavy and cumbersome devices. Some very well equipped models sacrificed the portable appearance and opted instead for the transportable with imposing dimensions and a weight exceeding 5 kg.

Nvidia would like to make any notebook a solution to play. One could thus take advantage of an ultra powerful chip capable of handling the latest games in a device measuring only a few millimeters thick and whose tasks were until now reserved for surfing and office automation.

The Max-Q architecture should immediately take advantage of the Pascal chipset: GTX 1060, 1070 and 1080. Nvidia has imposed the constraint to bring its most powerful chips into a maximum 1.8 mm thick with a system Cooling and power supplies.

The first device to take advantage of this new architecture will be the Asus Rog Zephyrus which displays the design of a notebook as well as the power of a player PC.
