Amazon Underground will soon close its doors. As of May 31, Amazon will no longer accept new apps and games for Android within this particular program.
Access via the Amazon Appstore app for Android devices will cease in the summer, but full and final closure will only occur in 2019. Until then there will be a preserved access for tablets Fire, and developers will be able to continue submitting updates for their existing applications.
Launched in 2015, Android Underground offers free, normally premium Android apps. In exchange for dropping their in-app fees, developers are paid according to the time spent by users on their applications.
