The
wait will have seemed long before the first generation of virtual
reality helmets arrived, and yet the disappointment will have been
there, so that the next batch of helmets at HTC is not near to arrive on
the market.
HTC promised that its next virtual reality headset Vive 2 would be a revolution ... But for this, the brand now takes the time it will take to develop a device that responds to the set (or failing , Mostly) the expectations of users, sometimes disappointed with the experience proposed by the first generation.
The HTC Vive and Oculus Rift quickly disappointed the public: from the start, they were displayed at relatively high prices, all of which involved an even greater investment in a PC capable of feeding them content. Then, the hardware at the heart of these helmets left some regrets, notably with regard to the proposed image definition, the omnipresent motion sickness and finally, the few really immersive experiences proposed.
To meet all the expectations of the players, HTC envisages to put the doubles with his Vive 2, but it will take time. While we were already expecting to see a new version of the helmet at the CES in Las Vegas earlier this year, HTC had focused only on accessories.
From now on, the Vive 2 may not be available until the 2018 horizon, the time to see the computer park renew itself and to bet on configurations able to manage the 4K more easily and thus meet the needs of reality Standard. It is already known that one of the main efforts will be to raise the headset in resolution, the question of wireless operation could also be at the heart of the subject, as for the fall in prices, one can only hope for it without too much believe.
