The next big update of Windows 10, Redstone 4, scheduled for next spring announces the arrival of more and more connected PCs.

It is next spring that Microsoft should deploy the next major update of Windows, Redstone 4. The menu of this update, the arrival of "Always Connected PC", the PCs still connected, including through a better support for eSIMs.

If Microsoft dropped Windows Mobile, it is probably better to redirect to Windows 10 for ARM but also because Windows 10 also tends to become a reference in the field of connected OS.

The next update should thus facilitate Internet connections, especially at the level of laptops. To connect without WiFi or Ethernet access, these devices had previously necessarily passed through a SIM port, a 3G key or a connection sharing via a smartphone. With Redstone 4, Windows 10 will support eSIM.

It will be possible to directly download his profile from the cloud and associate it with a data plan without going through any activation of the card beforehand, provided that the operators provide eSIM to their subscribers. The transfer will be facilitated and Microsoft also plans an "Enterprise eSIM" for professionals that will be easily deployed on a complete fleet of machines by virtually cutting it into different data packages based on the overall volume associated with the main eSIM.
