Last month, a court in Sweden sentenced a man to ten years in prison. Between 2015 and early 2017, he was charged with rape and sexual assault on victims he has never met physically.

There are 27 victims in all, 9 of whom have not been identified. At the time, the 18 identified victims were 15 years old or younger. According to the Swedish public prosecutor, they were from Canada, Scotland and the United States.

The 40-year-old had threatened to kill relatives of the victims or to broadcast their photos on pornographic sites if they did not perform sexual acts while watching them via webcam from Sweden.

This is the first time in Sweden (and in the world?) That a person is found guilty of raping for online acts. The sexual predator, who rejected the rape charges, was also convicted of possession of child pornography.
