The launch of Apple's HomePod postponed to 2018

Announced in June and scheduled for launch in December, the HomePod device piloted by Siri Apple is finally postponed to 2018.

At the WWDC 2017 conference in June, Apple introduced the HomePod, a domestic assistant piloted with Siri and wanting to compete with Amazon Echo and Google Home.

With its Apple A8 chip inherited from the iPhone, its sound system designed for quality audio broadcasting adapting to its environment and its 6 microphones listening to the slightest desires of the user, the HomePod system uses the artificial intelligence of Siri to respond voice commands and provide relevant answers or control home automation sensors in the home.

The device was to be offered from December 2017 for a fee of $ 349, in the first three markets: United States, United Kingdom and Australia. But the Cupertino company will finally not be able to keep this schedule and now plans to launch its HomePod early 2018. Apple says it still needs a little time to finalize its product.

Which means that it will miss the critical holiday season that could have been a good springboard for such a device. Already behind the other players who can now count on a first user base, the elite HomePod will remain so until next year.
