Samsung: towards a small smartphone with a borderless screen?

While the majority of smartphones turn to screens larger than 5.5 inches, Samsung could change the situation with a more compact terminal borderless screen.

The 5.5 and 5.7 inch smartphones have become the standard among manufacturers, and especially thanks to the miniaturization of components that allows them to exploit a larger display area by opting especially for the 1: 2 ratio.

Borderless screens can also gain in display area, but these large screens are not always appreciated by users, especially because they still involve relatively bulky smartphones barely able to be stored in the pockets, but also because these screens are particularly energy-hungry, and this is reflected on the autonomy of the terminals.

Samsung could return to compact smartphones, a variant that was still popular a few years ago among all manufacturers, but has faded over time. According to Ice Universe, a Chinese leaker, Samsung could offer a terminal less than 5 inches that would however benefit from its Infinity Display, a terminal with an extended screen on the edges.

No reference is associated with this supposed smartphone for now, but the leaker evokes a possible Galaxy S9 Mini ... Note that one of the newest compact terminals on the market is currently the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact which offers a 4.6-inch screen and a Soc Snapdragon 835.
