Sharp Aquos S2: the borderless smartphone on three sides is officially unveiled

The Sharp Aquos S2 finally confirms its display without borders on three sides giving it a ratio ratio screen / front face of 87.5%, and a dual photo sensor in the back.

The new Sharp Aquos S2 eschews bezels from three sides
Since the Xiaomi Mi Mix late 2016, manufacturers are starting to offer smartphones with a display occupying most of the front panel and reducing or eliminating the upper and lower portions.

The latest model to present such a configuration is none other than the just announced Sharp Aquos S2, which offers a borderless display on the three upper sides.

This gives it a ratio of 87.5%, higher than the Galaxy S8 (but less than the 91.3% of the Xiaomi Mi Mix) and its Infinity Display display, leaving only a small lower band housing a home button and a Slight center offset for the front photo sensor, as on the Essential Phone. Here, the display offers a diagonal of 5.5 inches and a Full HD resolution, on an IGZO panel.

Tapered glass for the back
The Sharp Aquos S2 comes in several configurations with SnapDragon 630 or 660 SoCs, 4 to 6 GB RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage space.

At the rear, there is a dual photo sensor 12 + 8 megapixels organized in a vertical position. To power the whole, a battery of capacity 3020 mAh is present.

On the price side, the Sharp Aquos S2 is announced in China on 14 August for the equivalent of 372 dollars in standard version, and 520 dollars for the configuration 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage.
