DJI drones should no longer be used by the US military


The US Army orders the US military to stop using drones from the Chinese manufacturer DJI, citing vulnerability.

 In a memo dated August 2, the US military orders its members to no longer use drones of the Chinese brand DJI because of potential cybervulability, said Reuters.

Military personnel are requested to discontinue use and uninstall DJI software but also to remove batteries and isolate equipment, even though the DJI drones are widely used by the American american.

The Chinese brand is the world leader in the UAV segment with various ranges of aircraft ranging from entertainment to semi-professional riding, with the ability to board 4K cameras and control aids to facilitate control, Obstacle avoidance.

The memo, which is yet to be officially announced, would be linked to the results of work by the Army Research Laboratory and the Navy indicating vulnerability in DJI products.

The manufacturer DJI expressed its disappointment and its incomprehension with respect to this withdrawal which was done without consultation. He is now trying to find out more from the US Army and to correct the loopholes that would have been updated, but the two reports released in May are for the time being confidential.


At the same time, US troops now have the authority to neutralize any UAVs venturing into no-fly zones, including military bases and installations, either by deactivating or destroying it, if they consider it pose a threat.
