Altice again under threat of sanction from the European Commission

After being condemned last November by the Competition Authority for SFR's over-speed and non-regulatory buyout, the Altice group (Numéricâble) could once again be sanctioned by the European Commission .

The Altice Group could thus again be sanctioned by the European Commission in the context of the recent takeover of Portugal Telecom. In a preliminary inquiry, the Commission finds that Altice may have infringed EU rules by acquiring the operator without notifying or even being notified to the Commission.
