Robots will annihilate the human race

It is an idea that is more and more often taken up by the scientific community: ill-mastered, robotics could sign the extinction of the human race. Astronomer Royal astrophysicist Lord Rees adds to the already extensive list of scientists sharing their concern about the proliferation of robots and the uncontrolled development of artificial intelligence.According to the scientist, robots could annihilate humans within a few centuries. The originality of the thesis advanced by the latter is that it supposes thus that it has already happened to extraterrestrial entities technologically ahead of our civilization. These synthetic entities would then have replaced the organic forms of life that would have conceived them. "In my opinion, if we ever discover an extraterrestrial intelligence, it will not resemble us. It will be an electronic entity" shares the scientist.According to the astrophysicist, man on Earth will represent only a short phase of life on our planet. The machines will thus have several millions, even billion years before them when we are extinct. Intelligence as we know it could thus give way to artificial intelligence and a new form of digital life. This thesis joins other hypotheses of astrophysicists who have indicated for many years that it seems unlikely that one day we meet a civilization having the same stage of development as ours, only two options are present: Less evolved, or better.
