A Windows user would install an average of 49 programs on his computer. The Google Chrome browser comes first.
By compiling anonymous data from 116 million Windows computers running the AVG TuneUp automatic updating feature, Avast found that, on average, a user installs 49 programs on his machine.
In the first quarter, the first of all is the Google Chrome browser. Follow Adobe Reader and Flash Player (Active X) for the number of active installations. A priori, the report does not take into account the Microsoft programs installed by default.
For Flash Player, however, the result may be biased due to a default integration in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. For the Flash Player plugin that is not far in the Top 10, this may also be due to an integration in Google Chrome.Other programs include Firefox, Skype, VLC, WinRAR, Java and Adobe Air.
More than half (52%) of the most popular applications running on PCs around the world are not up to date. The palm returns to Java, Flash Player (Active X) and Foxit Reader.
The report reports on the distribution of the different versions of Windows (above), and indicates in another registry that the hard drive dominates the SSD which is less present in the configurations. For the time being...
