Xiaomi Mi Max 3: the giant smartphone with wireless charging and iris scanner?

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 looks like a very large smartphone with a 7-inch display and a large capacity battery.
New details also reveal the presence of a wireless charging system and perhaps an iris scanner.

Xiaomi MiMax smartphones rely on gigantism to appeal to a wide audience and the first edition left us with a good impression by offering correct performance for a large but not totally unreasonable bulk.

The Chinese manufacturer is preparing a Xiaomi Mi Max 3 which still sees as big with a 7 inch FHD + ratio display and a SoC SnapDragon 660 which will bring solid performance, not to mention a large battery of 5500 mAh.

The XDA Developers site had access to the Xiaomi Mi Max 3's preliminary firmware and can confirm the presence of the SnapDragon SoC 660 and the 5500 mAh battery, as well as the 18: 9 ratio display.

Other information emerge: the smartphone would have wireless charging. Xiaomi has approached the consortium WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) and its Qi technology, we could find there a first application, alongside the Xiaomi Mi 7 which should also offer this feature.

XDA Developers has also found references that could signal the presence of an iris scanner. The front photo module is an OmniVision 2281 whose qualities allow iris recognition. It remains to be seen if this feature will be integrated, but chances are it will.

Note finally that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 could directly ship Android 8.1 Oreo, unless Xiaomi prefers to launch the device with an older version but offering more stability.
