Pokemon Go soon ousted old iPhones

Niantic will soon have to part with Pokémon Go players, as the application is no longer supported on older iPhones.

Niantic Labs announced that as of February 28, Pokémon Go will no longer be supported by some older iPhones and iPads. And by old, this involves terminals older than the iPhone 5S, terminals that are 4 years and older.

In concrete terms, any Apple device that can not switch to iOS 11 will be deprived of Pokemon Go from the end of February. Niantic explains this choice by wanting to integrate improvements that take advantage of iOS 11 and require devices that are up-to-date from both a hardware and software point of view.

For players, this implies inaccessibility to their account. To continue to enjoy the title, it will then switch to a newer device. The situation is even more ironic that iOS 11 tends to slow down the old iPhone (earlier than the iPhone 8 or X).
