Messenger: Facebook intensifies sponsored messages

In the coming months, all advertisers will have access to sponsored messages on Messenger.

On the Messenger messaging application, sponsored messages are targeted, contextualized advertisements that allow companies to target people with whom conversations have already occurred.

Facebook has decided to allow more advertisers to send sponsored messages directly to people. In the coming months, they will be open to all advertisers. The basic rules are kept.

Sponsored messages are only available to businesses if they have traded with users in Messenger, and with enough conversations to target an audience. They can only be sent once in a 24-hour period.

In addition to bots (or chatbots) for example, messages sponsored on Messenger allow brands to maintain a relationship already established with users. A way to extend the commitment of users, in the terms that Facebook likes.

On the occasion of the publication of Facebook's latest quarterly results, Mark Zuckerberg, the boss and co-founder of the group, said that more than 20 million companies already communicate with users via Messenger.
