Stream Ripping: After the closure of YouTube-MP3, the alternatives multiply

The record industry continues to fight against Stream Ripping sites. Yet, if the main platforms have been grounded, others take the opportunity to fill up users.

A few months ago, record companies in the US and the UK launched a lawsuit against YouTube-MP3.org. The site had specialized in stream-ripping, namely the recovery of MP3 files from YouTube videos. Everyone could download music files directly by simply entering the desired content into the YouTube address.

The use of Stream Ripping has been evolving for several years, a study conducted by IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) evoked a 30% increase over the year. If you won a battle with the killers of YouTube-MP3, other platforms have since taken over like Download-youtube-MP3, Youzik or Download-Youtube-mp3 for cite a handful.

The lawsuit against copyright infringement will not really leave YouTube-MP3 that has closed since. And this case has comforted the associations that represent the rights holders, inviting them to multiply the procedures against these platforms.

After attacking third-party sites, it is directly YouTube that is challenged, not accused of not sufficiently protect the contents that it diffuses nevertheless in agreement with the majors and rights-holders. Google is more generally blamed for facilitating access to Stream ripping platforms in the results of its search engine.
