iPhone X: first deliveries by the Foxconn assembler

Late on its production schedule, the iPhone X is finally in the phase of delivery of the first copies by the assembler Foxconn.

Announced in September with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus but scheduled for a launch in early November, the iPhone X has suffered from delays in its production, recently associated with the assembly of the TrueDepth sensor for
Face ID recognition.

The model that celebrates the 10 years of the iPhone range is likely to be available in small quantities at its launch, several analysts say, the situation is not expected to improve until 2018.

At the same time, the expectations of the public (or a certain public of early adopters) would be strong with respect to this model which brings a series of innovations, from its AMOLED display (a first for the iPhone) facial and augmented reality.

According to Digitimes, the Foxconn assembler has finally delivered the first copies of the iPhone X, and more precisely a first batch of 46,500 units to the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates, Chinese source.

This suggests, however, that the Cupertino firm is struggling to produce its model, while marketing is set to November 3, after pre-orders that will open on October 27.

While analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the production of the iPhone X was less than 100,000 units per week, Foxconn would currently be at a rate of 400,000 units per week, which is still insufficient to meet the strong demand.
