Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride tentatively scheduled for Oct 26th in Hawthorne. Worth seeing this beast in person. It's unreal.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) 13 septembre 2017
Few details have yet emerged but Elon Musk, Tesla's boss, promised a presentation for the fall. He has just specified the timetable by postponing the officialization of his first electric heavyweight from September to October 26, a date that could still evolve.
The manufacturer, already busy with the production of its Tesla Model 3 electric vehicle, could potentially find a new niche carrier with an electric heavyweight, which he promises will be able to carry heavy loads over long distances.
Many electric truck projects are concentrated on peri-urban transport vehicles, pending technical developments that will extend their autonomy. Tesla seems to be preparing a real heavyweight for long distances.
