Mambo FPV: Parrot recycles its drone in a race-oriented version

After having managed the tour de force to democratize the drone of leisure, Parrot is in search of a second breath. And while the incursion of the brand in the field of the professional drone has not yet borne fruit, the French specialist tries to decline its products towards the drones race.

The drone race has been a hot topic for a few years, and Parrot plans to exploit the vein so long as Chinese manufacturers are not too attracted by the sector.

Parrot has unveiled the Mambo FPV, a revised version of its Mambo that was released last year, but which is associated with a set of accessories to make it a real gear oriented race. The ludic side is thus reinforced by the presence of a new flypad and a VR helmet in which it will be enough to integrate its smartphone to enjoy first-person control (FPV). A removable camera to put on the drone completes the whole.

The camera in question will thus be able to return the live images to the user, but also to record the races on Micro SD card. The image definition is only 720 P, but its wide viewing angle should allow for good visibility for control.

All in all, these are only a few minor improvements to a compact drone that has not been clearly designed for performance, since the Mambo only evolves at 30 km / h. It is therefore far from the drones of race engaged in the World Championship to exceptional performances. But for Parrot, it is above all to propose an overview of the race in drone, with a product oriented towards the game indoors.
