Windows 10: File History is not yet dead

The backup feature with the file history has become available again in the Windows 10 pre-release.

Introduced in Windows 8, the backup with the help of file history had strangely disappeared from a leaked build of Windows 10 Insider Preview (16212) and build 16215. What to lead to believe its ousting in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

A priori, this is not the case since this backup feature, otherwise known as File History, has become available again since build 16226.

This strange game of hide-and-seek could be related to the new OneDrive Files On-Demand feature and appropriate support.

Like Time Machine on macOS, File History allows you to back up files to another drive, then restore them if the original files are damaged or deleted.
