Android: 3.5 million threats in 2017?


 In the first quarter, G Data discovered an average of 8,400 new malware samples for Android, which remains a preferred target for attackers.   For the first quarter of this year, G Data reported having detected more than 750,000 new malicious applications for Android, and an average of nearly 8,400 new samples of malware per day.     For the full year of 2017, current projections expect 3.5 million new threats targeting Android, compared with more than 3.2 million in 2016. Nevertheless, nothing is determined in advance and such Projections are to be taken as indicative.     In light of these big numbers, G Data security experts are worried about the fragmentation issue that continues to poison the life of Android, and in fact new security features only for a handful Users with the latest version of the latest mobile operating system.
