IPhone 8: the integration of the Touch ID in the screen is problematic

The next iPhone 8 should be without a home button and its Touch ID module underneath the screen. But this integration would be a real headache, at the risk of having to change the design along the way. For a while, the Galaxy S8 Samsung was approached with a fingerprint reader housed under the screen. The presentation of the smartphone has nevertheless made lie this rumor with a sensor housed at the back, next to the photo sensor. There is reason to believe that due to its very moderate ergonomics (module difficult to access, too close to the photo sensor, drowned under the fingerprints), this presence in the back was decided rather late.

The same mishap could potentially happen to Apple's future iPhone 8. The smartphone, which will be equipped for the first time with an OLED display and without the Home button, should offer a Touch ID fingerprint reader below the screen, but according to analyst Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company, yields Of the AuthenTec module would be very low, endangering the presence of this solution in the final version.According to the analyst, Apple could then be forced to modify the design of the smartphone. There are three options: abandoning the Touch ID and relying solely on facial recognition, placing the Touch ID module on the back of the smartphone or delaying the production of the iPhone 8, which would lead to an announcement of the device at the same time As the iPhone 7S but with a significantly delayed availability. This last hypothesis is perhaps already at work since rumors of a late launch of the iPhone 8, have already regularly emerged.Apple iPhone 7 Plus
