Lamborghini Terzo Millenio: the concept of electric supercar designed with MIT

It is the turn of the manufacturer Lamborghini to unveil its concept of electric supercar Terzio Millenio, with the particularity of a collaboration with two laboratories of the MIT.

Slowly but surely, the manufacturers of supercars begin to study the possibility of developing electric cars, the days of thermal engines are now counted.

The manufacturer Lamborghini offers its own vision of the supercar of tomorrow relying on the expertise of MIT to present its concept (super) because Lamborghini Terzo Millenio, obviously full of innovative technologies.

Energy storage is thought around supercapacitors capable of delivering energy release very quickly and recharging by kinetic energy by suffering little charge / discharge cycles degrading traditional energy storage systems.
The bodywork uses carbon fiber, lightweight and robust, which also serves as an accumulator for the energy storage system, allowing "the entire structure of the vehicle to be used as a storage system" and limiting the exploitation of heavy standard electric batteries.

This work on the carbon fiber must also allow the vehicle itself to detect anomalies in its substructure following accidents, so as to avoid the spread of micro-cracks in the carbon fiber structure.

The Lamborghini Terzo Millenio operates four electric motors, one in each wheel, providing full transmission and offering more potential for aerodynamic work on the vehicle, with a specific signature of the front and rear Y-lenses.

But this is still only a general concept whose elements announced here will be gradually integrated into production vehicles.
