iPhone 8 and 8 Plus: batteries with smaller capacity than the iPhone 7



The Chinese TENAA reveals one of the secrets of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus: the capacities of their battery. Gare surprises.

At the presentation of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, Apple has put forward the SoC Apple A11 Bionic which equips them and evoked for the first time a fast charging capacity allowing to reach 50% charge in 30 minutes.

The technical card indicates a "autonomy approximately the same as that of the iPhone 7" or the iPhone 7 Plus for the large model and details the autonomy according to the usages but does not mention the capacity of the batteries of both smartphones.

The information appears however in the technical documents of the TENAA, the Chinese certification agency. The iPhone 8 would thus have a capacity of 1821 mAh while the iPhone 8 Plus would have a capacity of 2675 mAh.

In both cases, it's less than the iPhone 7 (1960 mAh) and the iPhone 7 Plus (2900 mAh), and for the iPhone 8 Plus, less than the iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6 Plus.

The documents also confirm that the iPhone 8 ships 2GB of RAM while the iPhone 8 Plus is equipped with 3GB of RAM, such as the iPhone X.
