Lenovo Smartphones: opts for Android pure

For all its future smartphones, Lenovo returns to an Android experience and sacrifices the overlay Vibe Pure UI.

Lenovo has decided to dump its Vibe Pure user interface for all its upcoming Android smartphones. This initiative is not synonymous with the arrival of a new overlay but the adoption of the so-called stock version of the mobile operating system.

In addition to the likely scrapping of bloatware, this choice should a priori facilitate a wider dissemination of the latest Android updates to the owners of the brand's devices. This also applies to security patches.

In line with a wish expressed by users, the initiative was announced by the Lenovo marketing manager for India, ahead of the release of the K8 Note.

This smartphone running Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be marketed exclusively on Amazon from August 18, and first for the Indian market.
