YouTube: a new computer interface

 

The YouTube interface using material design codes is officially available but not yet officially deployed on a computer.

YouTube offers a new interface for its web portal on a computer. For almost a year, users have regularly been able to face this front window that takes advantage of the codes of the design language Material Design.

The surprise is therefore far from total with the new interface refined but not yet officially deployed for all. Such a global deployment should take place before 2018. Meanwhile, it is possible to try it via youtube.com/new.

Notices and comments can be returned. And if all these spaces with immaculate whiteness disturb you, the possibility - already evoked - to go into a dark mode is directly available. The menu also returns to the classic version.

YouTube explains that the base is the Polymer framework developed by Google. It relies on Web Components to create independent and interoperable elements. It will enable new features to be developed and deployed more quickly. The so-called dark mode is a first example.
